He completed medical school at the University of Witwatersrand and undertook plastic surgery terms at Johannesburg General Hospital and Concord Hospital in Sydney. He later moved to London to continue his surgical training, working in the surgical departments of The Royal Free and The Royal Marsden. On returning to Sydney, he trained extensively in general surgery for four years and then in plastic surgery for five years, working alongside many of Sydney’s respected plastic surgeons across major teaching hospitals including St Vincent’s, Westmead, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
