Why you should not go overseas for your hair transplant

Should I go overseas for a hair transplant? Consider these factors:

  • Are you already planning to travel overseas?
  • Can you trust the safety and effectiveness of the clinic abroad?
  • What are the reviews like for the clinic?
  • Will you have to fly back to the clinic to get a repair if something goes wrong?
  • Will you return with an infection that is difficult to diagnose and treat?

By choosing to have your hair transplant procedure done by Dr.Wayne and his team, you can be assured that the same team will work on your head throughout the process. This is unlike going overseas, where you may encounter new and unfamiliar faces.

Additionally, Dr. Wayne places great importance on reviews and will schedule follow-up appointments at two weeks, three months, six months, nine months, and 12 months after your procedure. Please visit Dr. Wayne in person if you have any concerns.

Unfortunately, this level of personalised care and attention is impossible if you opt for a Hair transplant overseas.
There is little chance these overseas teams are interested in giving you a great result instead of just being a hair mill.

We recently had a young man who had his FUE hair transplant in Vietnam; two months post, he had an infection and swelling and was treated inadequately by his GP here.

Our Plan: We have started a high-level rescue plan for him. This included incision and drainage of abscess, correct antibiotics, and LED therapy.

Another example is a patient with 3500 grafts into his frontal area, with about 25% results after 12 months. Reviewing these photos, we could tell his growth was poor at 5-6 months, then stopped after that.
The Leeds( UK) clinic seemed decent, and they should have stepped in at six months to get the patient to use some rescue treatments.
This patient is very reticent to return to Leeds and will need a significant repair.

So we hope he will get some follicles surviving.
