Dr Young recently visited Seoul, for a quick weekend break and attended this prestigious Hair restoration meeting.
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Korean Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (KSHRS) meeting in Seoul — a dynamic two-day experience filled with innovation, collaboration, and global expertise.
Held in the heart of one of Asia’s most advanced aesthetic medicine hubs, the conference brought together leading hair restoration surgeons from across the world. The agenda was packed with insightful presentations, recorded surgical demonstrations, video sessions focused on the latest techniques in FUE, long hair transplantation, regenerative therapies, and the latest technology.
What stood out most was the spirit of openness and scientific exchange. Korean practitioners are at the forefront of both technique and technology — and they generously shared their protocols and results. From advanced implanter use to nuanced donor management strategies, I came away with several pearls to incorporate into my own practice.
Interestingly in Korea, the doctors all do the procedure from start to finish, and also do all the consultations and reviews, like it should be.
I also chatted with ISHRS President, Dr Ricardo Mejia from Florida USA. And it was insightful to understand the society and what the future holds.
Outside the conference hall, Seoul was as vibrant as ever — a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. The hospitality was warm, the food incredible, and the energy of the city contagious.
Some interesting places visited this time in Seoul-
What wouldn't be a great trip and conference to Seoul, if we also didn't have a Korean BBQ!
Grateful to the KSHRS for organizing such a well-structured and educational event. I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned and continuing the conversations with new colleagues and friends made along the way.
Also great catching up with Dr Jae Hyun Park, and meeting other local doctors.
